SAT Preparation Class
Preparation for the new S.A.T. begins January 30, 2016 with a diagnostic test from 9:00-1:00p.m. Breakfast is at 8:30a.m. The first class meeting is Tuesday, February 2 from 5:00 – 7:30p.m. Typically classes are from 5:00-8:00p.m. Refreshments are served 30 minutes before each class and test.
The tutoring program will resume for the spring semester on Saturday, February 6th. Available time slots at 10:00-11:00a.m and 11:00-12:00p.m. Parents/students may reserve both for an extended session or cover multiple subjects.
Reading Adventures with the Deltas
This monthly reading program will resume on Saturday, February 6th. The program runs from 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. Children in grades 1-5 enjoy a variety of activities designed to enhance literacy skills and encourage a love of reading.
Pre-STEM club STEAM activity
The club will meet at the NJ State Museum Planetarium on February 6th. All YSI participants and their friends are welcome to join us for the 2:00p.m. show. The fee is $7 adult; $5 child (twelve & under) Groups of 15 or more: $5 per person. You are welcomed to visit the State museum afterward (free admission). E-mail us to arrange the group pricing.
Three college tours are scheduled. A one-day tour on February 15 (Presidents’ Day) which features tours at Rowan University and Delaware State University. Eighth through twelfth grade students are welcomed. A one-day tour on February 27 to Princeton University includes a college students panel, a campus tour and lunch at a campus dining facility. Students in grades eight-ten are encourage to attend. A five-day tour from March 28-April 2 includes universities in Georgia and Alabama as well as historical sites. This tour is for ninth through 12 grade students.
Broadway play: The Color Purple
A day trip to New York City on March 19. Enjoy the play including Trenton native Carrie (James) Petit Compere, round-trip transportation and a light meal.
College Admission, Financial Aid and Career Planning Workshop
The workshop is scheduled for April 23, 2016. This highly popular all-day event features experts in these areas and much more information to de-mystify the college planning process. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
