Young Scholars’ Institute, a non-profit year-round learning center for Trenton area children in grades K-12, was established in 1990 by executive director, Jerri L. Morrison, a former teacher with financial assistance from the Harbourton Foundation. YSI is the culmination of the commitment and dedication of Ms. Morrison, her staff, the Board of Trustees and two hundred volunteers from the community.
Guided by a ten-member Board of Trustees, Young Scholars’ Institute provides innovative programs for approximately 1,200 school children annually. These programs and services include one-to-one tutoring, SAT preparatory courses, enrichment classes, college tours and college admissions workshops, reading and writing workshops and so much more! The “scholars” are taught by experienced teachers and tutored by adults, college and high school volunteers. |
