"My high school career has been full of exciting experiences so far. I have been involved in many programs, both in and outside of school. During my junior year, I dedicated a lot of time to become a well-rounded student. I am involved in many activities at my school, such as “open house” events, freshman orientation, the Black Student Alliance, an acapella group and the student council. Some of those activities gave me the opportunity to coordinate and host the first annual Afro Arts Festival at my school in celebration of Black History Month.

Outside of school, I spend much of my time volunteering and participating in various programs at Young Scholars’ Institute (YSI). I have tutored children, helped with various tasks around the

building, participated in the 2019 college tour, SAT Prep program, Toastmasters, Pre-Med Prep and more at YSI. I, also, became a Student Ambassador there. Each of the programs mentioned has significantly helped improve my confidence and courage to strive harder as a student. I know that there is always room for improvement in life.

I received many awards – some more than once – such as the Activities Award for Outstanding Service in the Black Student Alliance, Toastmasters International Spirit of Success Award, Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence, Ewing High School Activity Leader, Toastmasters International Certificate of Completion Award and the Mercer County on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Certificate of Service.

For my senior year, I plan to further explore my interest in pursuing a career in obstetrics. My favorite subjects in school have always been science and mathematics. I plan to continue to learn and grow in these two areas. I am excited about my future."
